CLASS FULL! What’s Your Story? Creative Nonfiction Writing Classes with Gary Koppel
Registration full!
One of the great things about creative nonfiction is that it is open to everyone. All you need is a pen, some paper and a past. This fall, writing instructor Gary Koppel will offer a two-session creative nonfiction writing series. The group will meet in person at the West Tisbury Library on Wednesdays, October 29 & November 5, from 11:30am-12:30pm. Registration is required and enrollment is limited to six. Please contact wt_mail@clamsnet.org to sign up. Free and open to the public!
Creative nonfiction uses a variety of creative writing techniques to tell a true story in a literary way. It is storytelling vs. reporting. With Gary’s instruction, the group will define the basic elements of story structure, explore the style and substance of both narrative and expository writing, and discover how to combine the two.
Gary writes, “Stories have power. They have the power to teach, to connect, and to motivate. Stories are more than information. While we are bombarded with data on a daily basis, the things that matter, the things we remember are often delivered with a well told story.”
Gary Koppel lives in LA and is a certified mediator, writer/producer, and writing instructor. Learn more about Gary’s impact at https://koppelconsulting.weebly.com/about.html.
