Molly Conole & Mark Alan Lovewell Concert
On Thursday, June 23, at 4:30pm, join us at the West Tisbury Library for a live concert featuring Molly Conole and Mark Alan Lovewell. Molly and Mark have teamed to share their love for Martha’s Vineyard and their love for folk music. In May they released a CD of songs and stories called “Home with Molly and Mark: our songs of Martha’s Vineyard.” The CD contains 19 different tracks including traditional tunes, original songs and stories. Their program includes singing and storytelling with leanings towards sharing their love for Martha’s Vineyard. CDs will be available to purchase. Free and open to the public.
Molly Conole is a regular Island performer, appearing in many different musical, choral and solo performances across the Island. She has performed from Manhattan to Walt Disney World and back to venues across the island including “Wicked Good Musical Revues” at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse. She also wrote, composed and was solo performer in her original show “Seaglass, Quilts & Song: Life in Pieces.”
Mark Alan Lovewell is a local folksinger with leanings to maritime history. He has performed as far west as Hawaii and Alaska and on the Vineyard and Cape Cod. He sings sea chanteys on local cruise ships and has a regular Sunday at Sea Facebook & YouTube Live performance weekly at 8pm, on which Molly has become a recent regular.
The two have combined their love for music and for the maritime into a one hour show of song and story. They’ll be singing some of the new songs from their CD.
Last February, the two performed virtually together for the Fisherpoets Gathering, in Astoria, Oregon. And they are making their way around the Island, performing live for the public.
