Emily Galvin Almanza Book Talk (kids)
Help children learn their rights! Join author and former public defender Emily Galvin Almanza on Wednesday, September 9th at 3:30pm for a conversation about her debut middle grade novel ANDROMEDA DIAZ AND THE REASONABLE DOUBT, which is meant to entertain and educate kids (and parents) about justice, mercy, due process, and the presumption of innocence.
The Andromeda Diaz series follows a girl whose parents are public defenders—and who, therefore, knows a thing or two about how to help a friend who stands wrongly accused of a crime. Andromeda is an unforgettable mix of Harriet the Spy and Perry Mason, and, with her best friend Danny Sullivan, ready to take on—and overcome—any accusation.
Emily will teach kids how to protect themselves and each other, and also speak about her work as a public defender and parent, and why she wanted to write a book for kids about knowing their rights. She’ll answer questions from the audience and sign copies of ANDROMEDIA DIAZ AND THE REASOANABLE DOUBT, which will be for sale courtesy of Bunch of Grapes.
