Author Talk: Noepe: A Geological Overview of Martha’s Vineyard

Join Dr. Giorgio Caramanna for a discussion of his recently released book, Noepe: A Geological Overview of Martha’s Vineyard. This event is free and open to the public.

Noepe: A Geological Overview of Martha’s Vineyard takes readers on a journey through the geological forces that shaped the island, from the ancient glaciers of the last Ice Age to its present-day landscape. Accessible to readers with or without a background in geology, the book explores Martha’s Vineyard’s unique geology and waterways while considering how climate change and rising sea levels may shape its future.

Dr. Caramanna is an accomplished scientific diver and geologist who has spent decades exploring the underwater world. In 2015 he began collaborating with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and was awarded the Golden Trident in 2018 for his contributions to underwater science.
