Emergency Financial Preparedness: Planning Today for Tomorrow

On Saturday, April 18, at 3:30pm, at the West Tisbury Free Public Library, Jennelle Gadowski of the West Tisbury Emergency Management Department will present the next event in our monthly series, “Ready Together: Community Preparedness.” All are welcome.

April is National Financial Literacy Month, and being prepared isn’t just about supplies—it’s also about your financial readiness. Join West Tisbury Emergency Management for an informative and practical session on how to protect your finances before, during, and after an emergency.

This presentation will cover how to organize critical documents, safeguard personal and financial information, plan for unexpected expenses, and recover more quickly after a disaster. Participants will receive a free Emergency Financial First Aid Kit (EFFAK) and learn how to use it to securely store essential records like insurance policies, banking information, and medical details—all in one accessible place.

Having your financial information ready can reduce stress, speed up recovery, and help you and your family stay resilient when it matters most.
