Film Screening presented by Steven Shapiro

On Thursday, July 17th at 1pm at the West Tisbury Library, all are invited to a free screening of the film “Conscious Light.” This event is presented by Tisbury resident Steven Shapiro.

The film features the remarkable life and enlightened teachings of Avatar Adi Da Samraj and his work to establish a way of ultimate spiritual realization for everyone. It draws on extensive archival film, photography, and audio recordings, as well as interviews with students.

The film also captures candid, often humorous, and spiritually profound exchanges between Avatar Adi Da and his students over the course of more than three decades, including transcendent moments of sublime silence and spiritual transmission. Viewers are drawn into a deeply intimate experience of Avatar Adi Da’s living spiritual presence.

Shapiro spent significant time from 2001 to 2005 with Adi Da Samraj, the subject of the film. He spent time with Adi Da on Kauai, Naitauba Island, Fiji, and in Northern California. The film screening will give viewers a feeling for Adi Da, both as a Realized Wisdom Teacher of the highest degree and as a very human being.
