CLASS FULL! -Acrylic Painting with Jen Burkin

The West Tisbury Library will host a five-week, in-person acrylic painting series with Jennifer Burkin on May Thursdays from 1:00-3:00pm. All supplies will be provided and all levels are welcome. Space is limited to 10 participants. Participants need to commit to all five sessions: May 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. Please contact wt_mail@clamsnet.org to sign up. Free and open to the public!

Join professional artist and certified art teacher Jennifer Burkin in exploring acrylic painting on canvas. Each week we will look at a painting by Vincent Van Gogh to inspire the work we will do. The focus will be on mixing colors and applying them in an expressive manner. Much will be learned through experimentation. This is a supportive group setting for those interested in trying things out with paint. All supplies will be provided by the library and all levels are welcome, including beginners.

About the instructor:

Jennifer Burkin has been an artist and an art educator for over thirty years. She lives in Chilmark making art and teaching drawing, painting, printmaking and mixed media to both children and adults. Her own work focuses on images from her childhood, the natural world, as well as her black lab. During the winter of 2020, she designed a line of nautical themed notecards that are for sale on the Island in more than 12 stores.
