Susan will present her newly released book, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stepping Off the Boat: Stories from North Manitou Island. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Books will be available for purchase and signing. Free and open to the public!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Susan\u2019s recently published book is about an island in Northern Lake Michigan. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe book has about 400 historical images and details a time and place which mirrors the settlement of both the midwest and the country. Back-breaking labor felled virgin forests, then plowed and farmed the land that was cleared. The island\u2019s geological and historical development has been shaped by human habitation.
