On Saturday, December 2nd, at the West Tisbury Library, authors Christy Cashman and Geraldine Brooks will be discussing Cashman\u2019s newly released novel, <\/span>The Truth About Horses. <\/span><\/i>Books will be available for purchase and signing. All net proceeds from <\/span>The Truth About Horses <\/span><\/i>book sales <\/span>will be donated to Misty Meadows Equine Center. This event is free and open to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n

At 3:15pm, join us on the library lawn for a meet and greet with horses from Misty Meadows. At 3:30pm, we will gather in the Community Room for the book talk.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Christy Cashman<\/b> is an American author, actress, and producer who has appeared in more than twenty films, including Kettle of Fish, The Love Guide, American Hustle, Joy, The Descendants, Ted 2, The Women, The Golden Boys, The Forger and many others.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second youngest of ten children, Christy was named after Catherine Marshall\u2019s novel Christy, and grew up in North Carolina where her love for horses began at a young age. When she\u2019s not writing or working on production projects, Christy is most likely riding cross country through the countryside of New England or Ireland. She has also written two children\u2019s books set in Ireland \u2013 \u2018The Not-So-Average Monkey of Kilkea Castle\u2019 and \u2018Petri\u2019s Next Things\u2019. Christy lives with her husband, Jay; two sons, Jay Michael and Quinn; their three dogs, Ben, Lucy, and Dan; and three horses, Calvin, Butterscotch, and Victor. The family divides their time between Kilkea Castle in Ireland and their homes in Boston and Chatham, Massachusetts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Geraldine Brooks<\/b> is the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel March and the international bestsellers Horse, The Secret Chord, Caleb\u2019s Crossing, People of the Book, and Year of Wonders. She has also written the acclaimed nonfiction works Nine Parts of Desire and Foreign Correspondence. Born and raised in Australia, Brooks lives on Martha\u2019s Vineyard.<\/span><\/p>\n
