Online Memoir Writing Workshop<\/b><\/p>\n
Starting January 4, the West Tisbury Library will host a five-week online memoir workshop series with Moira Silva on Tuesdays from 10:30am-12pm: 1\/4, 1\/11, 1\/18, 1\/25, and 2\/1. Classes will meet on Zoom. Please contact <\/span>wt_mail@clamsnet.org<\/span><\/a> to sign up. Space is limited. Participants are asked to commit to all five sessions. Free and open to the public!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n About the class: A blend of exercises, readings and discussions will connect writers with their writing and themselves. Participants will form a supportive community while sharing in-process work. We will honor whatever is created, be it essays, songs, letters or entire new genres. After five weeks, writers will leave lighter in spirit and richer in purpose. \n<\/span>We are living in strange times no doubt. In this course, writers are invited to tell whatever story is closest to them. They may choose to dive into what’s happening now by keeping a running journal or reflect on life by penning official life story memoirs. Or both.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>Moira Convey Silva is a writing instructor, writing consultant, yoga teacher, community activist, and award-winning writer who, for over 10 years, has freelanced for national and local periodicals. Focusing on features and essays, especially ones that relate to sustainability, Silva\u2019s writing most notably appears in the Boston Globe, Women\u2019s Running and Taproot.
