The History of Ice Skating: Presentation with Corinne de Langavant

On Monday, March 26th at 6pm, join us at the West Tisbury Library for an evening presentation with skater and performer Corinne de Langavant. Corinne will discuss the history of skating and its connection to classical ballet. She will also lead attendees through a series of fun, easy exercises that will demonstrate the basic skills needed to be comfortable on ice skates, as well as more advanced techniques for those who are already experienced and wish to increase their skill base. This event is geared toward adult audiences. No previous experience necessary. Free and open to the public.

Corinne has over 30 years of performance and production experience in acting, dancing, skating, music, and clowning. She is currently working on a book about the connection between skating and ballet. Corinne brings her passion for the arts to all her activities, and she is currently a member of “What’s Written Within” improv dance company on Martha’s Vineyard.
