MOVEMENT SPEAKS® Dance Workshop presented by The Yard
On Friday, August 23 at 1:30pm at the West Tisbury Library, The Yard presents a taste of MOVEMENT SPEAKS®, the signature class of the NYC-based organization, “Dances For A Variable Population.” This class, led by Naomi Goldberg Haas, promotes strong and creative movement for adults of all ages and abilities to improve mobility, balance, strength, connection, joy, and creative mastery.

Naomi Goldberg Haas has worked in concert dance, theatre, opera, and film. She performed with Pacific Northwest Ballet and was recently awarded a DANCE USA 2019-20 Fellowship for her work with communities for social change. She was LMCC’s 2014 recipient for the President’s Award for the Performing Arts, and serves as the NYC’s Age Friendly Media, and Arts and Culture Working Group as appointed by the Mayor. As founding artistic director of “Dances For A Variable Population,” a multi-generational educational and performance organization based in NYC, her MOVEMENT SPEAKS® programs and public performances annually offer 2,500 older adults opportunities for strong and creative movement. She has been an active member of the The Yard and the Martha’s Vineyard dance community choreographing and teaching each summer since 2006.
