CLASS FULL! Memoir Writing Workshop
Memoir Writing Workshop with Moira Silva
Your memoir starts here. Beginning Wednesday, November 7th from 10:30am-12pm, writer Moira Silva will lead a four week series of Memoir Writing Workshops at the West Tisbury Library. You’ve already got the stories– moments of accomplishment, surprise, transition, and more. In this supportive writing community, you’ll begin transforming these experiences into your memoirs. Participants will be inspired when reading exemplary essays, responding to intriguing prompts and engaging in rich discussions. By Week 4, your focus will be honed and you’ll be sparkling with a renewed passion for writing. This workshop will meet on Wednesdays at 10:30am: 11/7, 11/14, 11/28, 12/5. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Participants must commit to all four sessions. Sign up is required, so please contact the library to reserve your space. This series is free and open to the public.
You can find Moira C. Silva’s most recent essays in The Boston Globe and Women’s Running, or by tuning into WMVY Radio’s “Hot Seat.” A former English teacher, Moira holds a Masters in Writing and Teaching Writing from Northeastern University. As a mother of two energetic little boys, she’s always on the lookout for a good cup of coffee.
