Learn about birds with Felix Neck!

‘Birds’ with Felix Neck at the West Tisbury Library

Come to the West Tisbury Library at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 30th, to learn about birds with Felix Neck’s Ryan Ofsthun! Birds are an incredible group of animals. They fly! They sing! Come find out what makes these creatures so spectacular.   We will look at field guides, specimens and even take a crack at identifying different species.

Ryan is the Preschool Director of the newly created Fern & Feather Preschool at Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary. With over a decade of experience teaching in preschools both here in New England and under the big blue skies of Texas, and a deeply rooted love of our natural world, Ryan joins us to share in the exploration of the wonders that can be found in and around our beautiful island.

This program is open to all ages (children under 10 must be accompanied by a mature caregiver) and is free and open to the public.

This program is part of “Science is Everywhere,” a STEM-focused (science, technology, engineering, and math) event series at the West Tisbury Library created for children, tweens, and teens. This series is made possible by a “Science is Everywhere” LSTA grant (Library Services and Technology Act) administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. These funds enable the West Tisbury Library to provide opportunities for kids and families to participate in enjoyable and engaging programs, while creating positive experiences with topics in STEM.

For more information about this series and a complete list of “Science is Everywhere” programs, please contact Young Adult Librarian Laura Hearn at the West Tisbury Library.
