A Talk with Merissa Nathan Gerson

On Sunday, February 18th at 3:30pm, writer and educator Merissa Nathan Gerson will give a talk at the West Tisbury Library on the topic of Judaism and the Jewish people. Merissa asks, “Ever wonder who the heck the Jews really are?” This talk will provide insight into the religion, its origin and evolution, and the contemporary meaning of what it is to be a “Jew,” both from inside the community, and outside looking in. Refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

Merissa is a freelance writer with a Masters in Jewish Studies. She was the intergenerational trauma consultant to Amazon’s hit show, Transparent and her writing has been featured in The New York Times, Playboy Magazine, The Atlantic, Tablet, Lilith, and many other publications. She travels nationwide to teach topics including sex and religion and the inheritance of trauma and memory.
