“Dress a Girl Around the World” Dressmaking Gathering

On Sunday, January 26 from 1:30-3:30pm, join Sarah Vail at the West Tisbury Library to help finish making dresses for the non-profit organization Hope 4 Women International. The Hope 4 Women’s “Dress a Girl Around the World” campaign aims to help girls in need by “putting a dress on every girl to keep her safe from predators.” At this gathering, we will be finishing and embellishing dresses that are partly made. Please bring a sewing machine, threads, bias tape, small bits of fabric for pockets, lace and trims, and imagination! Don’t know how to sew or have these materials? All are welcome to help cut out fabric and clip threads. Stop in for a little while or stay the whole time. Refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.
