Art Exhibit and Reception: Kim McCarthy

Saturday, September 7 from 3:30-5:00 pm, all are invited to an art reception at the West Tisbury Library to honor the work of artist Kim McCarthy. This exhibit, titled “Martha’s Vineyard Today,” features colorful photographs of the natural beauty of the island. Kim’s photography will be on display in the library’s Community Room throughout the month of September. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

About the exhibit:

Kim McCarthy started her photography blog, MV-Today.com, to get herself out into nature and to photograph what she found on Martha’s Vineyard. She challenged herself to post to the blog for a year, to be sure she had a goal to meet. That seemed to work. In the exhibit, you will see the beautiful vistas and moments that Kim found north to south and east to west on the island.

About the artist:

Kim McCarthy is a high school teacher of journalism and British Literature for an online school. Kim had her own portrait photography business at one time and photographed many Vineyard families. Kim also had a career with NBC Network News as a news writer and field producer.
