A History of the 1950’s and 60’s through Popular Song

Saturday, August 11 at 4:00 pm, come to the West Tisbury Library and sing along to the history of the 1950’s and 60’s through popular song! Join New York Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Marc Black, for a musical tour through these two historically defining decades. You’ll sing along with songs as diverse as “Itsy Bitsy, Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini” and “Blowin’ in the Wind” – by artists ranging from Gene Autry to George Harrison. In addition to the music and discussion, this program features a slide show that’s sure to slide you right back in time. Marc will also perform his own group’s top forty hit from 1967 titled “Happy” by the “Blades of Grass.” This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
